Deputy Education Minister is one of the most empowered deputies – Aide

Special Aide to the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, Samson Samari has indicated that Dr. Clement Apaak is one of the most empowered deputies under the current administration.
The clarification follows a video circulating online featuring commentary by broadcaster Kelvin Taylor on the With All Due Respect programme, which made claims about the working relationship between the Deputy Minister and the substantive Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Minister’s aide, Samson Samari, stated unequivocally that the claims do not reflect the reality within the Ministry and should be disregarded by the public.
“The Deputy Minister remains one of the most empowered and privileged deputies, frequently representing the Ministry at high-level functions and decision-making forums,” the statement said.
According to the Office, Dr. Apaak has never, at any point, either privately or publicly, expressed dissatisfaction or grievance regarding his role or the delegation of duties within the Ministry of Education. It stressed that narratives suggesting otherwise are inaccurate and misleading.
The statement further clarified that the comments made in the circulating video do not represent the views, sentiments, or experiences of the Deputy Minister, adding that Dr. Apaak has fully dissociated himself from the claims made by Kelvin Taylor.
The Office also highlighted that Dr. Apaak continues to play an active and meaningful role in the Ministry’s work, describing him as one of the most involved deputy ministers in the current administration.
It noted that his frequent representation of the Ministry at key engagements underscores the confidence reposed in him and contradicts claims of marginalisation being peddled on social media.
The Office urged the public to treat the claims in the video with caution, describing the commentary as speculative and unsupported.
“The public is urged to disregard the misinformation contained in the video,” the statement said.
According to the Office, such commentary does not reflect the professional environment within the Ministry of Education, which remains focused on advancing the country’s education agenda.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the Deputy Minister’s commitment to supporting the leadership of the Minister for Education and working collaboratively to deliver on the Ministry’s mandate.
