Six Akufo-Addo Ministers under investigations – Kwakye Ofosu

Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu has disclosed ongoing probes into six former ministers from Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.

Speaking on The Key Points on TV3 on March 14, 2026, Kwakye Ofosu said the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team is leading investigations into alleged mismanagement and irregularities by former officials.

He revealed that numerous individuals have been interrogated, cautioned, and had case dockets submitted to the Attorney-General’s Department for further action.

“They have over 40 such cases. In the case of NIB, over 43 people have been affected, including Kwaku Agyemang Manu, who this week claimed no action had been taken against him,” he said.

The investigations cover several high-profile projects. Former Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu has been questioned over the Sputnik V vaccine procurement and COVID-19 airport testing arrangements. The Free Public Wi-Fi initiative is also under review, involving Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, along with Opeoluwa Omotayo Ojo, Benjamin Kofi-Ntsi, William Ntidakun, and Matilda Iwea Azuma, with a docket already submitted to the Attorney-General.

The Boankra Inland Port project has drawn scrutiny, implicating former Transport Minister Kweku Ofori Asiamah, Justice Amo, John Bernard Quartey Yorke, and Michael Achagwe Luguje. Investigators are also examining the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), where former Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam has been questioned, alongside matters concerning the Office of the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, involving Irene Naa Torshie Addo.

Other ongoing probes include the Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam project, involving former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Wilson Kwabena Darkwa, and Alhassan Alolo Muntaka. Additional inquiries relate to digitalisation projects, with individuals like Sarah Femi Bediatuo Asante, Kwadwo Darko Mensah, Benjamin Kofi Gyasi, Philip Tetteh Padi, and Matthew Opoku-Prempeh cited.

Kwakye Ofosu also highlighted the World Bank Blue judgment debt case, noting former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is currently a fugitive. Authorities are reviewing expenditures and procurement linked to the 13th African Games.

He stressed that the government remains committed to recovering public funds and ensuring accountability.
