Mawutor Foundation, partners provide relief to children affected by Ghana floods

The Mawutor Foundation, in partnership with New Home Ministry Louisiana, has provided relief items to more than 100 vulnerable children and communities affected by recent flooding in Ghana.
The outreach targeted children at an orphanage in Akwatia, as well as families and individuals whose access to basic necessities had been disrupted by the floods.
Beneficiaries received clothing, storybooks, stationery, food, clean drinking water and toiletries to support their immediate needs and help the children continue with their education.

Speaking on the initiative, Founder of the Mawutor Foundation, David Eyram Agboado, said the organisation decided to extend its charitable activities to include orphaned children, in addition to its longstanding support for widows and visually impaired persons.
“We have been in this since 2015, helping widows and the blind. But James 1:27 defines pure religion as caring for orphans and widows in their distress. So, we decided to add orphans to our program,” Mr. Agboado said.
He explained that the foundation was also moved to intervene after learning that flooding had left some communities isolated and struggling to access essential supplies.

“After the flood happened in Ghana, they had a breached outreach, so people were finding it very difficult to get to them. When Mawutor Foundation found out, we quickly went there with New Home Ministry Louisiana to give our support,” he noted.
Before visiting the orphanage, the foundation also provided assistance to a visually impaired woman and her family in Abekan as part of the outreach.
Mr. Agboado said the intervention was intended not only to provide immediate relief but also to support the children’s education and general wellbeing.

“The impact will help them with their daily needs and also improve their education,” he said.
He added that the Mawutor Foundation and New Home Ministry Louisiana would continue to undertake initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable people in communities across the country.
“Looking forward, the public should expect more than this from Mawutor Foundation and New Home Ministry Louisiana,” Mr. Agboado assured.
