NACOC arrests three persons over alleged links to ‘Bolle Jos’ network

Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three suspects alleged to be connected to Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos,” as part of ongoing investigations into an international drug trafficking network.

The arrests were announced in a statement issued by the Commission on September 14, 2026. According to NACOC, the suspects are believed to have represented and facilitated the activities of Leijdekkers in Ghana.

The Commission said the arrests followed the reported seizure by French customs authorities of a cocaine shipment allegedly linked to a broader criminal network.

While the statement did not provide details about the identities of the suspects, it indicated that the development forms part of a wider investigation into transnational narcotics trafficking.

NACOC said the three suspects are currently being held in its custody and are assisting investigators as authorities work to determine the extent of their alleged involvement in the operation.

“The three suspects are in NACOC custody assisting investigators examine their alleged roles in the trafficking,” the Commission stated.

The anti-narcotics agency said the arrests demonstrate its determination to prevent Ghana from becoming a hub for international drug trafficking activities.

“The arrests reaffirm NACOC’s resolve that Ghana will not be a safe haven, transit point or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations,” the statement said.

NACOC further stressed that it remains committed to working closely with both domestic and international law enforcement agencies in tackling organised drug crime.

The Commission noted that cooperation among security agencies remains critical to disrupting criminal networks operating across borders.

According to the statement, efforts will continue to target the individuals, financial resources and operational structures that sustain the illicit drug trade.

“The Commission will continue working with domestic and international law-enforcement partners to disrupt the people, finances and infrastructure sustaining the illicit drug trade, while safeguarding the rights and legal protections of all persons under investigation,” NACOC added.
