The wisdom of the masses will prevail – NAPO on NPP National election

Former Energy Minister and former New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says the outcome of the party’s national elections will be determined by delegates, expressing confidence in their ability to make the right choice.
Speaking in an interview with JoyNews on the sidelines of the NPP National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, Dr Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, said he had no personal interest in the ongoing elections and was leaving the decision entirely in the hands of delegates.
According to him, the democratic process within the party should be respected and trusted to produce the best outcome.
“The wisdom of the masses will prevail,” he told JoyNews when asked about the elections taking place during the conference.
Dr Opoku Prempeh said delegates from across the country had gathered to participate in a process that would shape the future direction of the party, stressing that every vote cast would contribute to strengthening the NPP ahead of future elections.
He also addressed questions about the party’s prospects in the 2028 general election, noting that elections in Ghana have always been highly competitive.
“All Ghana’s elections have been tough and have been keenly contested, but at the end of the day, the wisdom of the masses will speak,” he said.
He furthef expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the next election cycle and voiced support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s future political ambitions.
“The voters will decide who they think would give Ghana hope from 2029 going, and they will elect that person. And I believe sincerely, it’s going to be Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP,” he stated.
