Ghana Armed Forces set to employ thousands of officer, soldiers soon – Omane Boamah

Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has announced that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will soon open a new recruitment drive to employ thousands of officers and soldiers across the country.
The announcement was made in a Facebook post on Thursday, 19 June 2025, encouraging young Ghanaians to consider a stable and purposeful career in the military.
“Calling all young Ghanaians! The Ghana Armed Forces is set to employ thousands of officers and soldiers soon! If you’re looking for a stable career with purpose, this could be your chance,” the Minister wrote.
He urged interested applicants to stay alert for further information on application details and eligibility requirements.
Dr Omane Boamah also provided an update on ongoing recruitment processes, stating that the Armed Forces have begun processing qualified candidates from previous enlistment rounds. “
Only successful applicants (after a thorough surgical and profoundly revealing investigation) are being contacted to continue with the process, while unsuccessful ones are being informed of the outcome,” he explained.
He further disclosed that a fresh round of enlistment for the Officer Corps is expected to commence shortly, along with new recruitment for soldiers.
The Defence Minister also has assured the public that all relevant information regarding timelines and criteria will be made available in due course.
