GES wishes 2025 WASSCE candidates success, warns against malpractice

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has sent a message of goodwill to all final-year students preparing to sit for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a press release issued on July 25, 2025, and signed by its Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, GES commended the candidates for their hard work and resilience throughout their academic journey.
“As you sit for the exams, remember that success achieved through honesty and hard work is the most fulfilling and sustainable,” the statement read. “Do not allow yourself to be lured into any form of examination malpractice.”
GES stressed its commitment to protecting the credibility and integrity of the WASSCE and announced firm disciplinary actions against staff or candidates who flout examination rules. It revealed that approval has been granted by the GES Council to dismiss any teaching or non-teaching staff, including invigilators and supervisors, who are found guilty of aiding or engaging in malpractice during the WASSCE.
The Service also warned that students who engage in such misconduct would face severe sanctions, all in line with efforts to restore trust and confidence in the examination process.
“All examination officials are reminded of the great trust and responsibility placed on them and are urged to exhibit high levels of professionalism and ethics,” the release said.
Regional and District Directors have been directed to communicate and enforce this directive at all examination centres. GES concluded its statement with a note of encouragement: “Best of luck to all our WASSCE candidates. Ghana is proud of you.”
