Dr. Apaak makes surprise stop at Sokode Ando Primary School

Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Clement Apaak, on Wednesday morning, made a surprise stop at Sokode Ando Primary School in the Volta Region.

The deputy minister, who addressed the staff and learners at the assembly shortly after his arrival, said he had stopped by when he saw learners on his way to inaugurate Anfoeta Technical Institute.

He is due to be the special guest at the inauguration of the institute, which is in the Ho West constituency.

He used the opportunity to encourage learners to commit themselves to all their endeavours to do well in their educational careers.

“I was on my way to Ho to assist the MP for Ho West, Honourable Bedzrah, to inaugurate a new technical institute, so I saw you and I decided to stop by to say hello to you and your teachers and to assure you that your future is our concern.

“We will do our best to ensure that you succeed and become higher than a minister or deputy minister. Some of you will become doctors, some will become lawyers, some will become teachers, nurses, and engineers, whatever you want to be, you can become,” the deputy minister stressed.

He did warn that it was going to require them to be disciplined, obedient to their facilitators and parents.

Dr. Apaak also encouraged the learners to regularly attend school, as that will enable them to succeed academically.

“It takes discipline, listening to your teachers, coming to school, and attending class regularly. Doing your own homework and assignments, staying away from bad habits. If you can do all of this, whatever you want to become, you’ll become,” he told the students who were well organized at the assembly.

He told the students he was not privileged to attend an international school but had managed to make it; proof that circumstances were not to deter them from achieving their goals.

Dr. Apaak also commended the school for maintaining a tidy environment.
