Assistant Headmaster of KNUST SHS removed from Office

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, from office. His removal follows a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromising position with a female student.
According to a statement issued by GES on September 29, 2025, the management’s attention was drawn to the video after it began circulating widely on social media. The Service described the matter as serious, stressing its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
GES explained that Mr. Aidoo has already been relieved of his position and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are ongoing. The Service emphasized that due process will be followed and that any disciplinary action taken will be consistent with the code of conduct governing teachers and staff.
The statement further assured the public, stakeholders, and parents that the welfare of students remains a top priority. It reaffirmed that management would not hesitate to apply the necessary sanctions to preserve discipline, professionalism, and the reputation of the education system.
“Management views this matter with utmost seriousness. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care, Mr. Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement read.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the release signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, concluded.
