Ato Forson was a victim of a political witch-hunt – Ayine

Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine has revealed that he discontinued the trial of Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, due to his belief that the minister was a victim of political targeting.
According to Dr. Ayine, his decision was influenced by his personal involvement in the case as counsel, as well as his review of the case file, which showed no justification to continue the trial.
Dr. Ayine’s move to drop the charges against Dr. Ato Forson was motivated by his conviction that the case lacked legal merit and was driven by political motivations.
“I believed then, and still believe now, that Hon. Ato Forson was a victim of a political witch-hunt and that he has no case to answer in this trial,” Dr. Ayine stated.
Dr. Ayine’s decision to discontinue the trial is part of a broader move to withdraw multiple high-profile cases against state officials, citing defective charges and lack of legal merit.
