Black Stars’ job a mission, not just another job – Queiroz 

Carlos Queiroz has pledged total commitment to Ghana after being named head coach of the Black Stars.

In his first official message following confirmation by the Ghana Football Association, the Portuguese tactician described his appointment as a national responsibility, saying he is determined to bring discipline, unity, and renewed pride to the team.

“It is with a deep sense of gratitude to GFA, responsibility, and humility that I embrace this new chapter with the National Football Team of Ghana,” he said.

Queiroz, who has managed several national teams and top clubs across different continents, said his long career has exposed him to challenges that have shaped his coaching philosophy. He noted that Ghana represents another major chapter in that journey, especially as the team prepares towards key international competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup cycle.

“Football has given me a lifetime of challenges, lessons, and unforgettable journeys, all over the world. Today, I accept this mission with the same passion and commitment that have guided me throughout my career,” he stated.

He stressed that Ghana’s football culture remains a strong advantage, describing the country as one rich in talent and passion for the game. He added that respect for its history and belief in its future will guide his work.

“Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and footballing soul. I arrive with respect for its history and belief in its future,” he said.

According to him, progress with the Black Stars will depend on unity, discipline and collective effort across the entire technical and playing structure.

“Together, with unity, discipline, and ambition, we will work to honour the expectations of a great football nation,” he added.

Queiroz further emphasized that his motivation goes beyond employment, framing his role as one of service and responsibility.

“This is not just another job — it is a mission. And I am ready to give everything of my experience and knowledge once again, in service of the game and the happiness of people.”

His appointment has sparked optimism among supporters, with expectations that his experience at the highest level will help rebuild the Black Stars ahead of upcoming international engagements.
