Black Stars World Cup kit unveiled

Ghana has unveiled its new away jersey for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, inspired by Accra’s Makola Market and designed in a striking sunny yellow colour.
The new kit, produced by Puma, reflects the vibrancy and energy of everyday life in Accra, drawing creative influence from the bustling Makola Market.
Designers say the jersey captures the market’s bold colours and dynamic atmosphere, blending tradition with a modern football aesthetic.
The unveiling event took place in New York, where Ghanaian football figures and creatives gathered to showcase the new look ahead of the global tournament. Women’s football star Freda Ayisi and Black Stars legend Asamoah Gyan entertained fans by performing the trending Kakalika dance, adding excitement to the launch.
Music sensation Black Sherif was also present, highlighting the fusion of football and culture at the event. The replica jersey, officials noted, maintains the same match-day design but is tailored for casual wear, making it suitable for both supporters and everyday use.
The launch comes shortly after head coach Otto Addo named a 26-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Four players—Derrick Luckassen, Patric Pfeiffer, Marvin Senaya, and Daniel Agyei—received maiden call-ups as the team prepares for the tournament.
Ghana will face Austria on March 27 in Vienna before taking on Germany on March 30 in Stuttgart, fixtures expected to test the squad’s readiness.
At the 2026 tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the Black Stars will play all their group-stage matches in Canada and the United States. Drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, Ghana will compete on June 17, 23, and 27.
The team is targeting a return to the knockout stage for the first time since its historic 2010 quarterfinal run.
