PROVISION OF BOREHOLES TO TEN (10) LOCALITIES IN THE BUILSA SOUTH CONSTITUENCY
In the early part of 2023, my outfit was reminded of some boreholes which were urgently needed in some LOCALITIES in the Builsa South Constituency. By a letter dated 15th February, 2023, I engaged the District Assembly through my office to proceed with the drilling, construction and installation of Hand Pumps numbering ten (10) to these communities in the Builsa South Constituency.
The beneficiary communities are as follows:-
Three (3) of these boreholes were allocated to Fumbisi and these are in Suik, Bachiesa and Baasa. The two (2) allocated to Gbedema can be sited in Jagsa Gunta and Garibeansa.
The remaining five (5) were also cited in Abaa-yeri: Uwasi Lovogsa: Kanjarga, Nakpansa: Gbedembilisi, Goag: Wiesi and lastly Banyasa: Doninga.
In as much as the Builsa South Constituency wishes to provide good drinking source of water to it’s inhabitants, the MP’s office is always open to any of the locality that calls for help in the provision of same.
The beneficiary communities expressed their joy over the projects as it has alleviate them the stress of finding and drawing water from unhygienic sources.
Mr. Anaab a native of Abaa-yeri during my visit to the locality to do impact assessment of the borehole recounted how the water crisis before the MP intervention bedeviled them since he was born having to struggle with only one borehole even with the increased in population and extension in settlement, the women queue all day till it gets to their turn and water obtain cannot even cater for the family needs.
Madam Gloria from Lovogsa while thanking the MP intimated that “the water problem at the time made all aspects of life in my community difficult. As a homemaker, I cannot fully explain the profound grief this situation caused me. I am a mother and the situation actually affected my children’s education since they have to walk long distance and queue each morning before getting water to bath for school which makes them perpetual late goers to school”
The story was not different at Bachiesa Mr. Pius Akpai narrates “the greatest difficulty my village faced all its existence without solution was finding enough water for everyone. Many partners tried to help us but did not succeed. Now, my community and I are experiencing this joy through the intervention of the MP, this is a life time dream come true” this is by far the social interventions we want from our leaders.
