Dr. Clement Apaak’s remarkable track record in Builsa South – Part 1
In the heart of Ghana’s Upper East Region, a beacon of hope shines bright. Dr. Clement Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency, has etched an indelible mark on the lives of his constituents.
His unwavering dedication to education, healthcare, water and sanitation, youth and women empowerment, and agriculture has transformed the fabric of his community.
Dr. Apaak’s passion for education is palpable. He has provided funds for materials needed by final-year students at Kanjarga Community Day Senior High School for the West African Senior Secondary Examination (WASSCE) in 2024. The smiles on the students’ faces as they received the vital resources were a testament to Dr. Apaak’s unwavering commitment.
Abiisidebey Jonathan Anabile, a visually impaired student at the University of Ghana, is another beneficiary of Dr. Apaak’s generosity. His fees were paid in full, ensuring that financial constraints wouldn’t hinder his academic pursuits.
“I believe in the transformative power of education. I’m a living example. And so, it has always been my mission to support brilliant, needy students to get an education,” Dr. Apaak explained, his voice filled with conviction.
For Abiisidebey Jonathan Anabile, Dr. Apaak’s kindness resonated deeply. “Your generosity resonates with the biblical principle in Proverbs 19:17, which states, ‘Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.'” The words of gratitude spoke volumes about the impact of Dr. Apaak’s selflessness.
Dr. Clement has also approved the disbursement of GH₵ 231,200 to support 264 students from his constituency in paying their school fees.
In the authorization letter addressed to the Builsa South District Assembly on September 15, 2024, Dr. Apaak requested funds to support 182 students in various universities and 82 students from nursing and teacher training colleges. Each university student will receive GH₵ 1,000, while the nursing and teacher trainees will be given GH₵ 600 each.
Through his Student Support Programme, initiated in 2017, Dr. Apaak has supported 995 students with GH¢747,000. In 2024 alone, 264 students benefited from GH¢231,200 from his portion of the common fund. These numbers tell only part of the story; the real impact lies in the lives transformed.
