Education is the foundation of our nation’s future – Dr. Apaak

The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has emphasized the crucial role education plays in shaping Ghana’s future, describing it as the foundation upon which the nation’s prosperity is built.
Speaking at the 25th-anniversary celebration of Bolgatanga Technical University on behalf the Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu, Dr. Apaak stressed that institutions like BTU are vital in building a prosperous and self-sufficient Ghana.
According to Dr. Apaak, the current administration, led by President John Dramani Mahama, is committed to creating an inclusive and forward-looking educational system that leaves no one behind. This vision is aligned with the government’s efforts to advance technical education, foster stronger partnerships, and promote innovation.
Dr. Apaak’s sentiments are particularly significant, given his longstanding advocacy for improved education in Ghana. Previously, he has highlighted the challenges facing basic education, including inadequate funding, poor infrastructure, and shortages of educational materials.
In his speech, Dr. Apaak commended the leadership, faculty, and staff of Bolgatanga Technical University for their dedication and service. He urged students and alumni to uphold the institution’s values and utilize their knowledge and skills to drive national development.
As Ghana celebrates 25 years of Bolgatanga Technical University, Dr. Apaak’s call to action serves as a reminder of the importance of education in building a brighter future for the nation. By reflecting on past successes and challenges, reviewing current systems, and resetting the educational agenda, Ghana can forge a more prosperous and self-sufficient future.
In the words of Dr. Apaak, “Together, let’s reflect, review and reset our educational system in general, and technical and vocational education in particular. This is the surest way we can build the Ghana we want.”
