Four Ada SHTS students arrested over butchering threats

Four students of Ada Senior High Technical School have been arrested after a viral video showed a student wielding a cutlass and threatening colleagues.
The Tema Regional Police Command said the arrests followed the circulation of the disturbing video on social media, which captured the student allegedly intimidating others on campus.
According to a press release issued on May 22, police became aware of the incident around 12:10 a.m. after intercepting the video online. A night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene.
With support from school authorities, police arrested Raymond Gyamfi, 18, Oscar Amemoair, 18, Odartey Wilson, 18, and one juvenile identified in the footage.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The statement, signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police Headquarters, said investigations into the incident were ongoing and additional updates would be communicated later.
Police also urged students to resolve disagreements peacefully through established school procedures instead of resorting to violence or intimidation.
The command further appealed to parents and school authorities to strengthen supervision, guidance and discipline among students to help maintain safety in schools.
The incident has generated concern on social media, with many users calling for stricter measures to address violence and intimidation in educational institutions.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances that led to the threats captured in the video, but police say efforts are underway to establish the full facts surrounding the matter.
The Tema Regional Police Command assured the public that it remains committed to ensuring safety and order in schools across the region.
