Ghana must build education eystem that delivers results for every child – Dr. Apaak

Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every Ghanaian child has access to quality, equitable, and inclusive education, regardless of their background or location.

Dr. Apaak said that improving educational outcomes remains a major priority for the government, adding that investments in education must translate into measurable improvements in learners’ lives.

Speaking at the dissemination of the 2025 GALOP Endline Inspection Findings and Recommendations, he said education remains the foundation for economic growth, social development and national progress.

“Education remains the single most important investment any nation can make in its future. It is the foundation upon which economic growth, social progress, national competitiveness, and democratic development are built,” he stated.

He explained that the government’s education agenda focuses on improving learning outcomes, expanding access, strengthening accountability, and ensuring that investments in the sector achieve meaningful results.

Dr. Apaak said Ghana’s future depends on building a resilient education system that prepares young people with the skills and knowledge needed to compete in a changing world.

He called for stronger collaboration among policymakers, teachers, parents, communities and development partners to address challenges confronting the sector.

“The future of Ghana’s education system will be shaped by the decisions we make today,” he said.

The Deputy Minister encouraged stakeholders to continue investing in quality teaching and learning while ensuring that evidence remains central to education planning and decision-making.

He added that the ultimate measure of success would be the ability of the education system to help every child learn, succeed and achieve their full potential.
