Government put a spin on the SIGA report – Miracles Aboagye

‎The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has accused the government of misleading Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie into making comments about the performance of state-owned enterprises.

‎Speaking on Newsfile on Saturday September 5, 2026, Aboagye said, the Chief Justice’s remarks during his recent engagements with some state-owned institutions were based on information that did not accurately reflect the situation.
‎
‎“The government misled the Chief Justice into making comments at an organization that wasn’t making losses,” he said.
‎
‎He further accused the government of deliberately presenting information in a manner that could create a wrong impression about the performance of some state-owned enterprises.
‎
‎“Government put a spin on the SIGA report and that wasn’t needed,” Aboagye stated.
‎
‎His comments come amid an ongoing public debate over remarks made by the Chief Justice during visits to selected state-owned institutions.
‎
‎The Chief Justice’s comments have attracted political reactions, with some members of the opposition questioning the basis and appropriateness of the statements.
‎
‎Aboagye maintained that public officials, particularly those occupying high constitutional offices, must be provided with accurate information to guide their public engagements.
‎
‎He argued that attempts to portray state institutions as performing poorly when the available reports indicate otherwise could undermine public confidence in those institutions.
‎
‎The Bawumia Campaign communications director also suggested that the controversy could have been avoided if the relevant government agencies had presented the Chief Justice with the correct interpretation of the SIGA report.
