It is not how long you serve, but how well you serve – Mahama jabs Bawumia

Good leadership is about being able to inspire and motivate others, make tough decisions, and lead by example. A good leader is someone who puts the needs of people above their own, and works towards the greater good of the people.
They are able to communicate effectively, listen to feedback, and adapt to changing circumstances. Ultimately, good leadership is about creating a positive and conducive environment where everyone can thrive and succeed, and these are exactly what H.E. John Dramani Mahama is noted for.
It would be recalled that during a visit to the Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV’s palace not too long ago,
the flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stated that according to the Constitution of Ghana, he is eligible for two terms as president, but his opponent, H.E. John Dramani Mahama can only go for a one term because he has been president before and so it would be better for the electorate to vote for him to serve two terms.
But speaking at the National Democratic Congress’ campaign launch on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Tamale, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, former President John Dramani Mahama argued that It is not how long one serves that is important, but how well the person serves. He pointed out that four years of a good leader is better than eight years of a dishonest leader.
Mahama criticised Dr. Bawumia for saying that the people of Ghana should try him for four years. According to the former president, the youth of Ghana cannot afford to waste another four years trying out Dr. Bawumia’s unproven leadership, and that the young people of Ghana
need experienced and effective leadership to create opportunities and drive development.
The youth of Ghana must, therefore, vote for Mahama once and forever because they must take their stand where they belong. For life is what we make of it as advised in a song by the Jamaican musician, Jimmy Cliff.
