A violent confrontation between rival groups at a funeral in Wassa Domama, Wassa West, Western Region, ended in a grim bloodbath. Six men were butchered. Health workers are battling to save others with cutlass wounds that threaten life.

Beyond One-Off Clashes
The problem runs deeper than these two cases. Most recent murders in Ghana were committed with sharp instruments. Attackers pierced victims repeatedly with knives in a heartless, sadistic fashion.
Signature of Serial Killings
What appears to be serial killings in the country has left victims’ bodies dismembered, with body parts missing. No gunshot wounds were found. Only the sharp, deliberate marks of knives. Using knives to kill is a cruel way of draining life from victims.
