Kwaku Manu stuck in Dubai amid Middle East tensions

Ghanaian actor and businessman Kwaku Manu has shared a video showing himself stranded in Dubai after the closure of the civilian airspace.
This follows major airstrikes involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Manu said he had travelled to Dubai solely to purchase perfumes to stock his shop, but was caught up in travel disruption when flights were suspended.
In the video recorded from where he was sheltering, he showed an alert on his phone that read: “Due to the current situation, potential missile threats, seek immediately shelter in the closest secure building and steer away from doors, windows and open area. Await for further instructions.”
He told viewers: “Everything will be fine. By God’s grace, nothing will happen to us. I’ve never received a message like this. I had just come to buy things and leave.”
Saturday’s strikes mark a significant escalation in the Middle Eastern conflict, with Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, confirmed killed in coordinated air attacks by U.S. and Israeli forces on February 28, 2026.
His death in Tehran and the broader offensive have triggered Iranian missile and drone retaliation across the region, disrupted air travel, and closed civilian airspace over several Gulf states, including the UAE.
The closure of airspace and suspension of flights have left travellers, including Manu, unable to depart as regional tensions intensify and authorities prioritise security amid ongoing military operations and counter‑strikes.
