Mahama joins global leaders in Libreville for innovation forum

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Libreville to participate in the inaugural Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development.
The high-level gathering brings together Heads of State, government officials, global investors, and technology experts to discuss pathways for growth driven by innovation and policy reforms.
The forum is being held under the patronage of Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Republic of Gabon. It is themed “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
Organisers say the event aims to position Gabon as a regional hub for innovation and a preferred destination for international investment.
The forum also marks the inauguration of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, a newly constructed facility expected to serve as a major venue for global dialogue and engagement.
Discussions at the forum are expected to focus on strengthening governance, improving the business environment and leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to drive sustainable development across the continent.
The event will culminate in the adoption of the “Libreville Declaration,” which is expected to outline commitments by political leaders to enhance transparency, governance and digital integration in Africa.
President Mahama’s participation reflects his continued advocacy for partnerships that connect government policy with private sector growth to promote inclusive development.
The statement was issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, on May 3, 2026.
