NDC demands urgent IPAC meeting to deal with missing voter kits
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the Electoral Commission must call for an immediate Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to address missing voter registration equipment.
In a letter addressed to the EC, the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey mentioned the shortage of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) and the mysterious disappearance of crucial components from Biometric Verification Registration kits, including five laptops as problematic.
“The attention of the NDC has been drawn to the following unfortunate occurrences at the Commission:
1. Shortage of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs)
2. Missing of one component of Biometric Verification Registration kits (5 laptops)Leadership, members, supporters and sympathizers of the NDC are worried about the situation and believe that these unfortunate incidents pose a serious threat to free, fair and transparent elections in the upcoming 2024 general elections. In light of these critical developments, we urgently request the convening of an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting.
“The integrity of our electoral process is non-negotiable. We must act decisively to safeguard the democratic principles upon which our nation stands,” the General Secretary stated.
