NHIA joins national general cleaning exercise, institutionalises monthly clean-up

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has joined the nationwide National General Cleaning Exercise, with its Chief Executive, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, leading staff in a clean-up of the Authority’s premises and surrounding communities in support of the Presidential directive.
The nationwide exercise, held under the theme “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods,” forms part of Government’s efforts to promote environmental sanitation, prevent flooding and protect public health.
At the NHIA Head Office, Dr. Asare Bampoe was joined by the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Operations, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto; the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Administration and Human Resource, Mr. Raphael Segkpeb; the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Finance, Madam Anatu Seidu Bogobiri, Esq.; as well as Directors, Management and staff. Together, they desilted drains, cleared accumulated debris and swept the Authority’s premises and adjoining public spaces.
Commending staff after the exercise, Dr. Asare Bampoe praised their dedication and teamwork.
“It is a great honour to lead the National Health Insurance Authority because the organisation is blessed with dedicated staff who understand the importance of service. I am deeply impressed by the commitment and teamwork displayed during today’s exercise,” he said.
He announced that the clean-up exercise would be institutionalised as part of the NHIA’s staff wellness programme and held on the last Friday of every month. According to him, the initiative will promote preventive and promotive health while encouraging environmental cleanliness to create healthier workplaces and communities.
“As an institution, we are setting the pace. Let us continue to lead by example as we work together for a cleaner, healthier and stronger Ghana,” he urged.
The Deputy Chief Executives, Directors and Management commended staff for their active participation and acknowledged the positive impact of the exercise on environmental sanitation, staff wellness and public health. They encouraged staff to make cleanliness a daily responsibility and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote healthier communities.
The NHIA’s participation in the National General Cleaning Exercise reflects its commitment to promoting preventive health, environmental responsibility and staff wellness. Through initiatives such as this, the Authority continues to demonstrate that safeguarding the health of Ghanaians extends beyond healthcare financing to fostering cleaner, healthier and more resilient communities.
