NPP delegates have elected worst flag bearer – Kwakye Ofosu
The Special Aide to former President John Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has stated that the governing New Patriotic Party has elected the worst Presidential candidate.
The NPP on Saturday November 4, 2023 in a National Delegates Congress elected Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as its flag bearer ahead of the 2024 election.
Mr. Bawumia polled 118,210 votes in the Presidential primary which had 204,144 delegates casting their ballot.
The Vice President is on record to have accused former President John Mahama of being unable to fix the Ghanaian economy during his tenure.
“You have presided in eight years over the collapse of our economy. If you knew the plan that will work for the economy and be successful, why haven’t you implemented that plan in eight years, why?” the Vice President quizzed.
Responding to the Vice President’s statement, Mr. Kwakye stated that Mr. Bawumia’s own words in the past will be his downfall.
“NPP delegates have elected the worst NPP Presidential candidate ever. Nearly 40% of NPP folks do not like him and rightly so, because his own words of the past will be his undoing,” Mr. Mahama’s aide stated in a tweet.
