Minutes of Meeting of Comms Team Held On September 21, 2023

The meeting, which had 30 participants, was chaired by Hon Nana Akomea, supported by Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

The chairman briefed members on the campaign rounds of our Principal and the positive vibes therefrom

The meeting took considered the following matters and adopted some prescriptions to addressing same:

CONCERN 1
The direct and indirect attacks on Principal by Kennedy Agyepong

REMEDY
1)Videos and statements of Kennedy Agyepong endorsing /eulogising Principal should be compiled, worked on and shared/distributed widely across all delegates platforms, etc

2) Anytime Kennedy appears on major media platforms, Team Bawumia should also arrange interview by key communicators, including Nana Akomea, Sammy Awuku, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Gideon Boako, Opare Ansah, Miracles Aboagye etc on same platform to counter

Responsibility: Nana Akomea, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Fati Abubakari

3) We should constantly come out with write-ups backed by facts and propaganda as appropriate on Kennedy Agyepong, to expose him. We are to give such write-ups the necessary publicity on both traditional and social media

Responsibility: Nana Akomea, Chief Obossu, Akbar, Mustpha Hameed , Krobea, Iddi, PK Sarpong etc

CONCERN 2
Attacks against Principal launched by surrogates of Ken Agyepong particularly Ms Maria Boadu

REMEDY
To set up our versions of Maria Boadu who will be guided to effectively checkmate Marie Boadu.

Lady Jaast and one other to be engaged in this role

CONCERN 3
Another surrogate attacker of DMB is Kevin Taylor

REMEDY
Okatakyie to be engaged to directly neutralize Kevin Taylor

Responsibility : Akwasi Agyemang and Thompson, Nana Akomea and Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

CONCERN 4
ABRONYE has been identified as a hostile surrogate

REMEDY
Atick, assistant to Sammy Awuku, to be engaged to respond to Abronye

CONCERN 5
Insulting attacks launched by principally NDC panellists on live media discussions against Principal

REMEDY
1)Team DMB panellists should first draw attention of host and panellist to the insult or offensive words and demand withdrawal of same comments. If there is no positive response from host or panellist, our panellist is free to use same offensive words against John Mahama.

The host should also be forcefully accosted by charges against or about them that directly puts them in the line of fire… i.e. putting them also on the defensive

2) The extensive Joy fm report that exposes the Bawuliar agenda of the NDC should be regularly dusted up and reshared widely

CONCERN 6
– There is underground propaganda against Principal that he would “Islamacize” the country if elected as President.

REMEDY
1)A handy response is that Ghana, with 70% Christian population, our Christian Presidents since 1993 have not been able to Christianize the 20% Moslems, how can a Moslem President Christianize the 70% Christians?

2)Video and reports of Christian leaders eulogising Principal should be compiled and widely shared

CONCERN 7
Handling former lead campaigners and spokespersons for Alan Kyeremateng who have declared intention to join the fold of Team DMB

REMEDY
Such key personnel, including Catherine Afeku, hon OPK, Sylvester and Ayippey, should be contacted and handled by Hon Akomea or Sammy Awuku and debriefed before engagement into the fold. The DMB campaign manual/Bullet points should be their guide.

CONCERN 8
Even when newspaper editors carry favourable Front Page stories, the stories do not necessarily get saturation discussion on the various radio and tv discussions

REMEDY
Active engagement of key radio/tv hosts and social commentators. In particular, perceived neutrals or non-party people who often comment on national issues in the media should be engaged to help in setting our agenda.

No systematic budgeting for comms operations.
