Ntim Fordjour denies having sexual intercourse with transgender musician

Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, has denied claims of sexual involvement with a transgender musician.
He dismissed the allegation during stakeholder deliberations on the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill 2025, stressing that he has never engaged in any such relationship.
“Maxine in her old or present life, contrary to her claim that she has had some pervasive sexual intercourse with me, I have never engaged in any sexual intercourse apart from what God created between Adam and Eve,” he stated.
The denial follows comments made earlier by Sam George, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, who referenced the controversy while arguing for stricter provisions in the bill.
Sam George questioned the legal implications of the claims, stating, “[This is a] male who claims that he has transitioned into a female and has held himself out on TV and done music videos and now claims that he is having intercourse with Honourable Ntim Fordjour and that Honourable Ntim Fordjour is his gay lover.”
He added that such public assertions raise concerns about whether existing laws adequately address similar situations, asking, “How are we saying that is not prosecutable?”
The discussion formed part of broader engagements with stakeholders on the proposed legislation, which seeks to regulate issues relating to sexual orientation and family values in Ghana.
The individual at the centre of the claims, known as Maxine, identifies as a transgender artiste. On her Instagram bio, she describes herself as Ghana’s first openly trans artiste, a statement that has drawn both support and criticism across social media platforms.
The claims involving Ntim Fordjour have circulated widely online, intensifying public debate around personal freedoms, reputation, and the scope of the proposed law.
While Ntim Fordjour firmly rejected the allegations, the exchange between lawmakers highlights the contentious nature of discussions surrounding LGBTQ+ issues in Ghana, particularly as Parliament continues to consider the bill.
The deliberations are expected to continue as lawmakers weigh legal, cultural, and human rights perspectives tied to the proposed legislation.
