POMAB, Yohuno very effective – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has praised the leadership of the Ghana Police Service for intensifying the fight against armed robbery and organised crime.
“I also want to take this opportunity to commend the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Management Board, his leadership team, for their dedication to transforming the Police Service,” he said.
The President made the remarks at the commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, where he highlighted the role of the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) in strengthening security across the country.
“This Police Management team has been quiet; they don’t make too much noise, but they are very effective,” he stated.
According to the President, ongoing reforms and operational strategies being implemented by the Police Administration are contributing significantly to improved law enforcement outcomes and enhanced public safety.
He noted that intensified operations against criminal networks have helped in tackling armed robbery and organised crime, while reinforcing confidence in the Police Service.
On his part, the IGP, Mr Yohuno, expressed appreciation to the President for his continued support towards strengthening Ghana’s security framework.
He pointed to government’s investment in retooling the Service, particularly the provision of armoured vehicles, as a major boost to police operations.
According to him, the additional logistics have played a critical role in supporting operations and helping to foil several robbery incidents.
Mr Yohuno reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Administration to sustain the momentum in crime fighting and ensure the safety and security of citizens.
The commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters forms part of efforts to strengthen police infrastructure and improve service delivery across the country.
