Should a Pastor also say Christians should vote for Mahama? – Apaak to National Peace Council

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has called on the National Peace Council (NPC) to condemn religious bigotry on display by Sheikh Issak Ibrahim Nuamah.
This follows a call by a popular Muslim cleric, Sheikh Issak Ibrahim Nuamah, urging the Muslims to vote for the NPP’s flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming general election.
In a video in circulation on social media, Sheikh Isaak Ibrahim Nuamah in his engagement with a section of Muslims indicated that this is the time to vote for their own.
“What I have been telling our young men in Accra is that if not now, when again? If not now, when again? If we do not help him as a Muslim to become President now, when again? Are we going to wait another eight years again? Never! If we do that, then we have cheated our children and grandchildren. On the 7th of December, it is Bawumia. I am talking as a Muslim. It is Bawumia, I am talking as a Muslim. If you are a Muslim, vote for him”, he said in twi.
Commenting on the development, the Builsa South lawmaker explained that spared religious tension and violence even before Independence.
“Should a Christian Pastor also say Christians must vote for John Dramani Mahama because he is a Christian?” Dr. Apaak quizzed.
He continued: “The National Peace Council must condemn this religious bigotry before it generates copycats.”
