The Struggle for Political Power (Kampf) beyond 2024 – Lawyer Kwabla Senanu writes

The fight for the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections begins now. But the key question that arises is this: what are the critical success factors (CSF) for winning that Kampf?
First, President Mahama needs to build an impregnable base for NDC lawyers to thrive in his administration at all costs. But for the sacrifices made in 2024 by the NDC lawyers in protecting the ballot boxes in every polling station in all the 276 constituencies, the NPP would have presented pre-stuffed ballot boxes at the polling centres to deprive NDC of its deserved sweet victory.
Second, the time has come for the hardworking NDC lawyers to enjoy the fruits of their sacrifices for this overwhelming 2024 victory of NDC. Given the conventions that serve as conveyor belts for nurturing the US presidential system that is imbibed under the 1992 Constitution, the heads of all ministries, public corporations and boards must be NDC appointees.
In particular, the heads of the legal departments in all public corporations and their paralegal staff appointed by the Akufo-Addo government for the past 8 years must give way to the appointment of NDC legal staff. Otherwise, NDC will pulverize, come the 2028 national elections.
Third, the executive secretaries and related staff in the legal departments of these state corporations must be loyal NDC appointees Otherwise, there will be a disconnect between the flow and implementation of the critical policies of President Mahama that will make Ghana great and proud after 8 years of massive looting by the NPP, as aided by these Akufo-Addo loyalists in these corporations.
Fourth, NDC lawyers should not be short-changed when it comes to the award of scholarships in many strategic areas of law, including energy and environmental law, international economic law, mining law, ICT law, banking and insurance law, and human resource law.
In conclusion, NDC should incentivize all NDC lawyers with an eye on currying their unalloyed loyalty to the party for the next 40 years and beyond.
