Gabby Otchere Darko apologizes to Charlotte Osei

Gabby Otchere Darko, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a public apology to former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei.
This comes after Madam Osei refuted his claim that she had acquired state land, which she described as a blatant lie.
According to reports, the controversy began when North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa accused Gabby and his wife of acquiring state lands near the Asaase radio station under questionable circumstances. In response, Gabby attempted to redirect attention to Osei, claiming she had acquired land near Asaase.
However, madam Osei swiftly dismissed the claim, stating she had purchased the land in a private transaction from a seller named Berchie in 2007.
Madam Osei took to Twitter to express her disappointment, saying, “Rich of you to complain about being lied to and yet tell blatant lies about another person… I have never benefitted from public lands. Do the same search and find out. I bought my land in a commercial transaction in 2007”.
Following madam Osei’s response, Gabby publicly acknowledged his mistake and retracted his earlier statement.
He stated that madam Osei had privately messaged him to clarify that her land near the Asaase building was acquired through a legitimate private purchase in 2007. Gabby apologized, saying, “Apologies for any reference erroneously attributed to her and retraction of the same”.
The apology brings an end to the dispute between Gabby and Osei. However, the broader debate over alleged misuse of state lands continues, with Ablakwa maintaining his accusations against politically connected individuals.
