Two employees found dead in vehicle at shoe factory at Atonsu Agogo

A tragic mystery has unfolded at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region, where two employees of the Chinese-owned Asomdwie Rubber Company were discovered dead inside a parked vehicle on the premises of a local shoe factory.
The deceased—identified as Baba, a senior staff member, and a female colleague whose name has yet to be confirmed—were both workers at Asomdwie Rubber Company, a plastic-processing firm operating in the area.
According to preliminary information, the bodies were found on the back seat of Baba’s vehicle, with the woman’s head resting on his shoulder. The doors were locked, and the windows of the car, which are tinted, were rolled up at the time of discovery. Baba is said to have been dressed in a singlet and shorts.
The circumstances leading to their deaths have raised numerous questions, as residents and co-workers try to piece together the events of the weekend.
Sources confirm that staff of Asomdwie Rubber Company had attended the wedding of one of their managers on Saturday, November 22, where both deceased persons were present. Later that evening, the female employee reported to work but complained of feeling unwell and was advised to go home.
Around 8 p.m. on the same night, residents reported seeing Baba’s car drive into the area before parking. Witnesses say the engine was initially running but went off after some time. The vehicle remained in the same position throughout Sunday, November 23, without attracting attention.
It was not until Monday, November 24, that nearby workers and residents noticed a foul smell coming from the car and alerted the police. Officers were forced to break the windows to gain access to the vehicle, where they found the two bodies.
The incident has shocked many in the community, especially as both individuals were known to be preparing for major milestones in their personal lives. Baba reportedly married in early August 2025, and his wife is said to be pregnant. The late female colleague was also preparing for her wedding, scheduled for December 2025.
Police have since conveyed the bodies to the morgue as investigations begin to determine the cause of death and the events leading up to the tragedy. Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities as they await autopsy results and continue to gather statements from witnesses and company officials.
