UG-Legon TEIN Homecoming: Ghana needs solution-driven young leaders – Anatu Bogobiri Esq

National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Deputy Chief Executive for Finance and Investments, Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri Esq, has urged members of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) to become solution-driven leaders committed to Ghana’s development.

Speaking as the Special Guest Speaker at the TEIN-University of Ghana Homecoming under the theme, “Honouring Our Past, Shaping Our Future,” Madam Bogobiri challenged young people to move beyond criticism and actively contribute practical ideas to address the country’s challenges.

She said Ghana’s future would be shaped by young leaders who combined policy advocacy, grassroots mobilisation and accountability with a willingness to solve problems.

“Let’s take Action over Talk. Let’s do away with the talk shops, it is not enough to critique. Of course, constructive criticism is allowed. But Comrades, let’s bring or proffer solutions after the constructive criticism. If you see a gap in health, a gap in education, in jobs — be the one to table solutions or implement something about it!”

Madam Bogobiri encouraged TEIN-UG to institutionalise a one-day policy-driven debate, forum or analytical discussion each semester to demonstrate that the student political organisation remained a home for innovative ideas and intellectual engagement.

She further reminded members that the skills they acquire through public speaking, policy advocacy, grassroots mobilisation and accountability would become invaluable in national leadership.

“The skills you are building now — the public speaking, policy advocacy, grassroots mobilization, accountability are the exact skills Ghana will need from you tomorrow. So, don’t despise small beginnings. This room is where nation-builders are formed so seize the opportunity!”

She also urged students to place legacy above social media popularity, arguing that strong institutions and integrity would have a lasting impact on national development.

Madam Bogobiri called on TEIN members to embrace unity over factionalism and work across differences in pursuit of shared national goals.

She stressed that the organisation must continue producing leaders capable of shaping governance through ideas, service and practical action, adding that Ghana was waiting for a new generation ready to provide solutions rather than merely identify problems.
