We celebrate your brilliant leadership – Old Vandals Association to Dr. Apaak

The Old Vandals Association has praised Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, for his leadership and service as he marked his birthday.

The tribute was contained in a birthday message issued on June 11 by the Old Vandals Association (OVA), the alumni body of Commonwealth Hall at the University of Ghana.

In the statement, the association commended the three-term Member of Parliament for Builsa South for what it described as his dedication to public service and national development.

“On this 11th day of June, the entire Old Vandals fraternity celebrates your brilliant leadership, statesmanship, and unwavering dedication to the Builsa South constituency and Ghana,” the association stated.

The group further noted that Dr. Apaak has continued to exemplify the values associated with Commonwealth Hall, one of the University of Ghana’s most prominent halls of residence.

“As a true Vandal, you continue to lead with charge and distinction,” the statement said.

The association also expressed optimism about the future achievements of the Deputy Education Minister and wished him well in the years ahead.

“May this new year bring you robust health, wisdom, and even greater triumphs,” the message added.

The OVA also indicated its eagerness to celebrate Dr. Apaak in person during an upcoming gathering of members.

“We can’t wait to celebrate you live at the upcoming homecoming. Raise a glass, Honourable!” the association remarked.

Dr. Apaak is currently serving as Deputy Minister for Education and is the Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency in the Upper East Region. He has represented the constituency in Parliament for three consecutive terms.

He hails from Dorninga and has built an extensive academic and professional career in archaeology and public service.

Dr. Apaak holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University in Canada. He also earned an M.Phil. in Archaeology from the University of Bergen in Norway and an International Certificate in African Archaeology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

His academic journey began at the University of Ghana, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology and History.

The Old Vandals Association is made up of past residents of Commonwealth Hall, the University of Ghana’s traditional all-male hall.

The hall has long been associated with student activism and outspoken advocacy on matters affecting students and national development.

Through the OVA, its alumni continue to maintain a strong presence in public life and university affairs.
