We must support our security services for a peaceful Ghana – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has called for unwavering support for Ghana’s security services, emphasizing that this is crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the country.
Speaking at the Ghana Military Academy on April 11, he urged citizens to provide critical information and intelligence to aid in tackling crime.
“Let me be emphatically clear, we do not have the resources or time to engage in games of smoke and mirrors,” President Mahama stated, highlighting the need for serious action against crime. He emphasized that the Ghana Armed Forces are working tirelessly to preserve national security and peace, and it’s essential for citizens to cooperate with them.
The President also expressed concern over the volatile situation in the Bawku region, a long-standing conflict hotspot. “Only two days ago, an incident in a marketplace triggered an unfortunate loss of lives and criminal vandalism of property. I wish to emphasise that nobody gains from this situation of conflict.” To address this, the government has initiated the Otumfour mediation process to work towards peace.
“We must support our security services and work towards a peaceful and secure Ghana,” President Mahama asserted, calling on citizens to join forces with the security services to maintain peace and stability. This cooperation is crucial in addressing security challenges and ensuring the well-being of Ghanaians.
