5th Anniversary of Dr. Clement Apaak Gala Games

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak for the past years has initiated gala games to unite community.

Introduction
This initiative that started humbly with a prerogative to unite the Builsa fraternity living in Accra, especially the youth has run successfully for four years in the past.

In all these past years that this initiative has been running, it has won the hearts of many and has continually improved in clout, as it provides a big avenue for Bulsas living in Accra to develop their sporting talents, network, and above all unite all for development.
Marking the 5th year since this initiative started, this year’s program was scheduled for 12th May 2024.

On the said day, on behalf of Hon Dr. Clement Apaak, the revered Chief of Uwasi did us the honors of taking the first kick that set the ball rolling. Again, on behalf of Hon Dr. Clement Apaak, Mr Felix Anamsi stood in to address the unprecedentedly huge number of Builsas who were present for the program.
Key Highlights
Four teams, (ie Kanjarga, Wiesi, Gbedema, and Zamsa/Chansa) have won their games, and have progressed to the next stage of the competition.
The activity was heavily attended with heightened enthusiasm among players and supporters.
A preventative approach to ensure peace during and after the activity was very successful as the entire activity was undertaken within a peaceful environment.

All teams were tasked to make provisions for first aid to cater to their players and all complied.
Except for one infraction where the Zamsa/Chansa’s team is purported to have fielded 3 unqualified players, the activity generally was peaceful as it has always been since its inception.
The opposing team – Uwasi, has reported the matter to the organizing committee who is currently investigating and has given word to bring finality to the matter on Wednesday 16th May 2024.
Way forward
The final batch of matches is slated for 19th May 2024.
Considering the anticipation of an overwhelming attendance, provision has been made for the Ghana Police Service to provide security.
Notice
The committee will want to acknowledge some concerns and suggestions raised by well-meaning Builsas and to assure them that all their concerns are being considered.
Thank you.
