Deeper Life Church to honour Dr. Apaak’s dad with learning centre

The Deeper Life Bible Church has announced plans to construct a learning facility in Bolgatanga in honour of the father of Dr. Clement Apaak, the late Pastor John Azundem Apaak.
Explaining the reason behind the decision, the church said the edifice will celebrate the elder Apaak’s enduring contributions to ministry and the community.
The announcement was made during a special service held today to commemorate the life of the late pastor following his burial on January 31, 2026.
Pastor Apaak, aged 81, was widely respected for his dedication to preaching, mentorship, and community service.
He spent decades guiding congregants, nurturing young people, and serving as a moral compass for his community.
His passing has been described as a significant loss to the Church and the Builsa traditional area, where people from all walks of life knew him.
During the service, Pastor Kofi Adjei, representing the Northern Zone of Deeper Life Church, praised the late pastor for his unwavering commitment to the Word of God.
“He was a passionate preacher of God’s word,” Pastor Adjei said. His life was marked by dedication, humility, and service to the community, and the learning centre will serve as a lasting testament to his contributions.
The planned learning edifice is expected to provide educational opportunities and resources for children and youth in Bolgatanga and surrounding areas, continuing Pastor Apaak’s legacy of guidance and community development.
The church leaders who addressed the thanksgiving congregation described the project as a fitting tribute to a man whose work extended beyond the pulpit into positive impacts for the next generation.
The late pastor is survived by five children including Dr. Apaak, Professor Apaak and their three siblings.
The family has expressed gratitude to the Church, sympathisers, and community members for their support during this period of mourning.
The construction of the learning centre will ensure that the values, teachings, and mentorship of Pastor Apaak continue to benefit the Upper East Region for years to come.
Meanwhile, Dr. Apaak has paid glowing tribute to his late father, Pastor Apaak, saying he lived a life defined by faith and humanity.
The Deputy Education Minister paid glowing tribute to his father during the thanksgiving service, describing him as a man whose name was “abound for good reason” because of his readiness to associate with and support anyone in need within his means.
“Our father was simple and willing to fraternise with everyone. He supported anyone who needed help and that he had the capacity to support,” he said, adding, “That is our father and we are very proud of him. We are proud of the life he lived.”
