Queiroz reveals comprehensive player analysis ahead of FIFA World Cup next month

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana’s technical team monitored 170 matches and assessed 75 players within a month ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese trainer disclosed the figures in an open letter captured in a graphic image and shared on social media on Monday, highlighting the extensive preparations undertaken by the Black Stars technical team between April 11 and May 11.
According to Queiroz, the technical staff produced 200 complete video compact reports focused on individual player performance analysis while carrying out 30 live match observations across different competitions.
He noted that 75 players were placed under continuous and systematic scouting observation, with an additional 30 players undergoing direct live observation by members of the national team’s technical staff.
The Black Stars coach added that the preparations also involved detailed technical and fitness performance assessments, as well as comprehensive medical monitoring of players being considered for selection ahead of the World Cup.
“One month. One mission. One relentless commitment to excellence,” Queiroz wrote in the statement shared online.
He praised the commitment and professionalism of the technical staff, stressing that much of the work carried out behind the scenes often goes unnoticed by supporters and the public.
“Behind every future success, there is invisible work, sacrifice, discipline, and countless hours of commitment,” he stated.
Queiroz further commended the dedication shown by members of the backroom staff during the monitoring and evaluation process.
“Proud of the professionalism, loyalty, and tireless spirit shown by our staff,” he added.
The experienced coach said the dream of building a successful national team depended on daily commitment, competence and attention to detail.
“The dream of a National Team is built every single day – through dedication, competence, attention to detail, passion, and responsibility,” the statement read.
Queiroz ended the message by thanking the technical team for their efforts while insisting preparations toward the World Cup would continue in the coming weeks.
“Well done, lads, and thank you for your effort and commitment. The work continues. To the future,” he said.
The FIFA World Cup begins on 11th June, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
