Jane Opoku-Agyemang joins Accra Ridge Church 90th Anniversary Lecture

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang joined the congregation of Accra Ridge Church for its 90th Anniversary Lecture held under the theme, “Repositioning the Church for National Transformation: Faith, Education and Holistic Renewal in Ghana.”
The occasion marked nine decades of worship, service, and meaningful contributions to Ghana’s national development.
The Vice President reflected on the pivotal role faith-based institutions have played in shaping Ghana through education, healthcare, social welfare, peacebuilding, and moral formation.
She noted that long before many public institutions were established, churches were building schools, hospitals, and community support systems that continue to serve generations of Ghanaians.
The Vice President highlighted the importance of the Church working alongside public institutions, particularly in underserved communities.
She identified areas such as quality education, healthcare delivery, youth development, rehabilitation programmes, and support for vulnerable groups as critical sectors where the Church can continue to make a significant impact.
She also urged the Church to remain a principled moral voice by speaking consistently against corruption, injustice, abuse, environmental degradation, and actions that weaken public trust. According to the Vice President, the Church’s moral authority is strongest when grounded in truth, fairness, compassion, and service.
The Vice President further stressed that Ghana’s progress depends on peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and backgrounds, noting that the nation’s stability has been strengthened by a long tradition of unity, tolerance, and cooperation.
The Vice President congratulated Accra Ridge Church on its 90th anniversary and encouraged the Church to continue partnering with Government and society to strengthen institutions, support vulnerable communities, and contribute to building a peaceful, prosperous, and values-driven Ghana.
