Court of Appeal acquitting, discharging Ato Forson victory for rule of law – Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama says the Court of Appeal acquitting and discharging Ato Forson in the ambulance case is a victory for the rule of law.
The Court of Appeal has just acquitted and discharged Hon. Ato Forson.
The Court of Appeal has set aside the order for Dr. Ato Forson to open his defense by the trial Court in the ongoing ambulance case.
In short, Hon. Ato Forson’s submission of no case has been upheld.
The National Communication Office of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi disclosed in a brief statement that the Minority Leader was innocent all along.
“Shame on crooked Godfred Dame, the NPP and their cheap media surrogates.
Enemies are not God,” Sammy Gyamfi stated.
He continued: “The day of accountability for the real criminals is soon coming. December 7 is not far.”
Commenting on the development, the former President stated ” This is a victory for the rule of law and confirms my long-held view that the whole case was political persecution.”
“Good news from the Court of Appeal, acquitting and discharging former deputy finance minister Cassiel Ato Forson in the ambulance case. This is a victory for the rule of law and confirms my long-held view that the whole case was political persecution.
“This appeal was made some time ago when they filed a no-case petition before the court and the High Court rejected it so they went to appeal. So it came as quite a pleasant surprise”, Mr. Mahama stated in a tweet.
The NDC flagbearer further stated “But it shows that we still have justice in this country, we can work to make the judiciary what we want it to be. I pledge to appoint a fair-minded Minister for Justice who will work with the legal fraternity and the Judicial Council to carry out reforms to ensure we have a truly independent judiciary we can all be proud of.”
