Health Ministry to close bid submissions for dialysis machines today

The Ministry of Health has announced that the submission of proposals for the supply and installation of dialysis machines will close today, September 16, 2025.
According to the ministry, the bids will be opened on the same day at 2:00 PM at its conference room on Sekou Toure Avenue, North Ridge, Accra.
The process forms part of the government’s efforts to expand access to dialysis treatment across the country.
The Chief Director of the Ministry, in a public notice issued on September 15, assured stakeholders and the public that the bidding process will be conducted fairly and transparently.
He emphasized that the exercise is in strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act.
“The Ministry of Health (MoH) wishes to inform the general public and all interested stakeholders that the deadline for the submission of proposals in respect of the above-mentioned request will officially close on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025,” the statement partly read.
The ministry expressed appreciation to all firms and organizations that have shown interest by submitting proposals for the supply and installation of the machines. Officials noted that ensuring fairness and competitiveness in the procurement process remains a priority.
The move comes amid growing calls for increased access to dialysis services, following concerns raised by health advocates and patients over limited facilities and the high cost of treatment.
The procurement of additional dialysis machines is expected to ease pressure on existing centers, particularly in major teaching hospitals where demand has outstripped capacity.
The Ministry of Health has, over the past few months, been engaging stakeholders to find sustainable solutions to improve renal healthcare delivery.
Officials have stressed that expanding dialysis capacity is a key step in the broader agenda to enhance specialized healthcare services across the country.
