The Chiefs of Builsa South have endorsed the 24-hour economy proposal by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer, John Mahama.
Addressing the entourage of the flag bearer the NDC, the Doninga Chief, Nab Atabnueong Adiila Akanbeanab Akanbong I stated that they believe the 24-hour can curb the unemployment situation in the country
“Accordingly, we, the chiefs and queen mothers of the Builses of the district fully endorse your flagship program of a 24-hour economy and ask the panacea to the growing unemployment situation in our district in particular and Ghana as a whole. (15:09) Excellency, the potential of the buses of the district to drive the agricultural revolution of our beloved country has long been recognized and endowed with large arable lands and water bodies,” Nab Atabnueong stated.
According to him, the Builsa South District has what it takes to feed Ghana and to export some of its produce for the much-needed foreign exchange.
“To achieve this, we, the chiefs and queen mothers all of the firm believe that a robust, transparent, and well-thought-out program by the government aims at supporting our hard-working farmers”, he added.
He stated the Chiefs of Builsa South want a government policy that would address the issues of accessibility to mechanization services and at a reasonable cost.
“Irrigation that facilitates all-year farming, the high cost of inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides, the availability of technology, and the adoption of farming practices that save Ghana our environment.
“We wish to appeal to your excellency to prioritize the agriculture sector as a veritable vehicle for industrialization and national development, with a special focus directed to communities such as ours, which by virtue of our ecological attributes are unable to engage in all-year farming in the event that the good people of Ghana make you president again.”
