Citizens will vote based on terrible socio-economic conditions inflicted on them – Dr. Apaak
The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has stated Ghanaians will vote based on the prevailing economic conditions in the country.
This follows the prediction by one of the founding members of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Arthur Kennedy that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia or Kennedy Agyapong can win the 2024 election against former President John Mahama.
According to him, an NPP presidential candidate will not have any viable campaign message to run on.
The Former NPP Presidential aspirant, Dr. Arthur Kennedy further asserts that irrespective of the outcome of the NPP Presidential primaries, neither Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia nor Kennedy Agyapong, stands the chance of beating Former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 general elections.
Commenting on the development the Builsa South lawmaker said regardless of who the NPP presents, Mr. Mahama will come out victorious in the 2024 presidential election.
“Regardless of who the corrupt, reckless and galamsey NPP presents in 2024, Ghanaians will not be hoodwinked.
“The terrible socio-economic conditions inflicted on the people by the NPP government is what will influence their decision. The alternative, JM/NDC is the only option,” Dr. Apaak stated in a tweet.
However, special aide to former President John Mahama, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has also described as untruth Kofi Bentil’s assertion so far.
According to him, per the records there is no way the Vice President can match former President John Mahama’s records.
“Kofi Bentil, in a write-up this morning, attempts an elaborate but implausible extrication of his friend, Bawumia, from the catastrophic performance of the government of which he has been the poster boy in the last seven years.
“Among other astonishing claims, Kofi says that Bawumia is a better alternative to Mahama in the 2024 elections given the opportunities both have had in government.
“This is a gratuitous untruth and is not backed by one shred of fact. No one can sustain such a claim. There will be plenty of time to discuss this subject in the run up to the 2024 electioneering campaign.
“It bears saying in the interim however, that apart from being much, much, better than Bawumia on the basis of verifiable facts regarding performance, Mahama showed himself a superior leader when taking personal responsibility publicly for governmental shortfalls in his day and putting in the requisite shift to address them comprehensively.”
