David Tamakloe elected PRINPAG President

David Sitsofe Tamakloe has been elected President of the Private Online and Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), following a hotly contested executive election.
In his first remarks after the declaration, Mr. Tamakloe described his victory as both an honour and a call to duty, expressing gratitude to members, executives, the secretariat, and the elections committee for their confidence in his leadership.
He also acknowledged his fellow contestants for their participation, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in building a stronger association.
“The overwhelming show of confidence through the votes cast is a clear call to duty, and I assure you that we are fully prepared to hit the ground running once we assume office,” he noted.
Outlining his priorities, the PRINPAG President-elect pledged to foster unity within the association and strengthen its institutional presence. He emphasised plans to diversify revenue streams to support members and their media organisations, while positioning PRINPAG as a more influential voice in Ghana’s media landscape.
Mr. Tamakloe further highlighted the importance of collaboration, promising to work closely with sister organisations, government, and the corporate sector to promote professional standards and defend press freedom. “Through partnerships with the government and corporate entities, we aspire to advance the promotion, protection, and preservation of media freedom and free speech,” he said.
He also extended an invitation to other elected executives and his former competitors to contribute their ideas and expertise as PRINPAG embarks on what he described as “a new chapter.”
Paying tribute to the founding fathers of the association, Mr. Tamakloe reaffirmed his commitment to uphold the trust placed in him and advance the ethos of journalism practice in Ghana.
“Together, we shall strive to achieve new heights and uphold the ethos of journalism practice in Ghana,” he pledged.
