Felix Gyamfi reassigned from National Service Authority to Finance Ministry

The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect.
The decision comes less than seven months after his appointment in January 2025, raising questions within public service circles. No official explanation has yet been given for the reassignment.
Sources at the Jubilee House indicate that Felix Gyamfi’s reassignment is part of a wider government reshuffle aimed at aligning key personnel with the country’s economic management priorities. The development, however, leaves the National Service Authority without a substantive head at a time when preparations are underway for the next batch of national service postings.
During his short tenure at the NSA, Mr Gyamfi worked to streamline administrative processes, improve deployment systems, and expand collaboration with private sector institutions to widen opportunities for service personnel. He also assured that the Authority would cooperate fully with state institutions investigating the infiltration of ghost names that caused financial loss to the state.
President John Dramani Mahama appointed Felix Gyamfi as Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority on January 22, 2025, in line with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119). His appointment was based on the advice of the governing board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
