OSP accepts Jospong-backed bail terms for Paul Adom-Otchere
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has accepted revised bail conditions for former Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) Board Chair, Paul Adom-Otchere, after the Jospong Group of Companies stepped in to guarantee his release.
This development follows legal negotiations after Mr. Adom-Otchere, who is under investigation for alleged corruption-related offences, failed to meet the initial bail requirements set by the OSP.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the OSP said it had formally agreed to the revised terms proposed by Mr. Adom-Otchere’s legal team. The updated conditions, according to the office, maintain the essence of the original bail requirements while offering flexibility. The Jospong Group of Companies, acting as surety, has officially guaranteed the new terms.
Mr. Adom-Otchere had earlier been directed to present two landed properties—without specified value—registered in his name as part of the bail conditions. However, the OSP revealed in an earlier update that the veteran broadcaster does not own any landed property in Ghana, a disclosure that complicated his ability to satisfy the initial terms and kept him in custody pending resolution.
The acceptance of the revised bail terms effectively paves the way for his release as the Special Prosecutor continues with investigations into the case.
Mr. Adom-Otchere is being investigated alongside two other individuals: Otchere Kwame Baffour Awuah, who serves as Group Executive of Commercial Services at GACL, and Albert Adjetey Adjei-Laryea, CEO of Devnest Systems.
The OSP has not yet provided full details of the allegations but has indicated that the three individuals are being scrutinized for their roles in transactions and decisions made during their tenure at GACL.
The involvement of a major corporate entity like Jospong Group in securing the bail has raised public interest in the case, especially given the ongoing national conversations around corporate accountability and political influence.
Meanwhile, the OSP reiterated in its statement that investigations are active and ongoing, and that it remains committed to pursuing cases of suspected corruption and related offences without fear or favour.
