Rest well, Senior comrade – Dr. Apaak mourns Ade Coker

The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has mourned the passing of the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker.
According to media reports, though the exact cause of Mr. Ade Coker’s death has not been publicly disclosed, sources indicate that he died after a short illness at the Bank Hospital on Saturday, May 31.
Commenting on the report, the Builsa South lawmaker recounted the visit by the former Regional Chairman to the Ministry of Education recently.

“Chairman Ade! What happens to the discussions we had when you came by the Ministry?
“Rest well, Senior comrade”, the deputy minister stated in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Mr. Ade Coker was first elected as Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC in 2009 and went on to serve three consecutive terms. He lost his re-election bid in 2022 to the current regional chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.
The former NDC Regional Chairman is also known in for his active involvement in football among others.
