Tiger Eye PI accuses Nyantakyi of peddling lies over ‘Number 12’

Tiger Eye Private Investigations has accused former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi of spreading misinformation about the investigative documentary Number 12.
In a strongly worded statement, the investigative body said Mr. Nyantakyi has persistently distorted facts surrounding the exposé, which it described as “one of the most consequential investigations in African football history.”
Tiger Eye PI rejected claims by Mr. Nyantakyi that the matter was a personal legal battle between himself and investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, insisting no such case ever existed.
“The case before the court was between the Republic of Ghana and Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi,” the statement said, noting that Anas had nothing to prove in court.
The group explained that Anas only offered to testify as a prosecution witness after its lead investigator, Ahmed Suale, who had allegedly been threatened by Mr. Nyantakyi, was assassinated.
According to Tiger Eye PI, Anas later withdrew after a court ruling required him to testify in camera without his trademark mask, a condition it said posed a serious security risk.
“This position was non-negotiable,” Tiger Eye PI stated, arguing that the unresolved murder of Ahmed Suale made the demand unsafe.
The organisation further rejected suggestions that Mr. Nyantakyi was cleared of wrongdoing, stressing that the Attorney-General discontinued the case despite what it described as overwhelming evidence. “Mr. Nyantakyi was not acquitted on the merits,” the statement said, adding that the case collapsed due to a prosecutorial decision following Anas’ withdrawal.
Tiger Eye PI pointed to sanctions imposed by FIFA, which found Mr. Nyantakyi guilty of misconduct, fined him $500,000, and banned him from football for life, later reduced to ten years.
“This confirms that the decision to drop criminal charges had no justification,” the group asserted.
Mr. Nyantakyi, now a senior advisor to the Kennedy Agyapong campaign in the New Patriotic Party primaries, has recently dismissed the investigation as “a figment of their imagination,” claiming the documentary misrepresented his role in an alleged corruption scandal.
Tiger Eye PI dismissed those claims as an attempt to rehabilitate a damaged reputation, urging the public to “disregard this latest attempt at deception” while restating its commitment to “name, shame, and jail” corruption.
