Weather Agency warns of thunderstorms in Accra, Kasoa today

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has announced that parts of the southern sector should expect localised thunderstorms and rainfall later today in its 24-hour forecast issued on Thursday morning.
According to the agency, Accra, Kasoa, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, and Sefwi Bekwai are among the locations likely to experience unstable weather conditions as the day progresses.
Early-morning mist and fog patches were reported over coastal, forest, and hilly areas, which temporarily reduced visibility for road users.
GMet indicates that although sunny conditions are expected nationwide by mid-morning, these clearer skies will give way to increasing instability in the afternoon.
The forecast notes that parts of the coastal belt, as well as communities within the middle and transition zones, should anticipate thunderstorms or rainfall continuing into the evening.
In contrast, northern parts of the country are expected to remain fairly dry throughout the day, with slightly hazy conditions persisting. The agency also highlights relatively cool nighttime and early-morning temperatures over the upper regions.
Sea conditions along the coast are projected to remain rough, and the agency advises that these conditions should be taken into account by coastal users and marine operators.
