Mamponteng chief sues Prophet Roja over death prophecy

Barimah Saasi Ayeboafo II, Chief of Mamponteng in the Kwabre Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has taken legal action against Prophet Roja over a prophecy predicting his death and that of other sub-chiefs in his palace.
Also named as defendants in the suit are Angel Broadcasting Network and Ali Baba Dankambary, a staff member of Angel FM, where the prophecy was broadcast live.
The writ, sighted by The Chronicle, states that the Chief considers Prophet Roja’s remarks a direct threat to his life and the safety of his palace officials.
He is seeking general damages of GH¢10 million for defamation, as well as an order compelling the defendants to retract the prophecy, issue an unqualified apology, and permanently erase the statements from all media platforms.
The Chief further requests a perpetual injunction restraining Prophet Roja, Angel Broadcasting Network, Ali Baba Dankambary, and their associates from repeating what he describes as defamatory and dangerous claims.
He insists that the comments have caused him significant distress and endangered his reputation.
During the live broadcast on Kumasi-based Angel FM, Prophet Roja allegedly declared that the Chief and some of his sub-chiefs would face imminent death.
He further warned the Oyoko family within the Manhyia Palace to “exercise caution in their spiritual practices.”
Barimah Saasi Ayeboafo II maintains that such public pronouncements are reckless and damaging.
He argued that if any misfortune should befall him or his associates, Prophet Roja must be held responsible.
